Puzzle Guide
Welcome to my Jump Puzzles. I hope you will enjoy the various themes and types created. Each puzzle will have various techniques, special objectives, rules, and difficulty.
Difficulty - Each puzzle is rated out of 10. The amount of path finding skills, jumping skills, and prior knowledge of how custom puzzles work will affect the rating. As a reference, the Kugane tower would be rated at roughly 3.
Location - Provides the location of the puzzle. Most of the puzzles built will be situated in Aether, Jenova.
Troubleshoot - If you ever encounter an issue where your character gets stuck, or have trouble with the puzzle in any way during progress, you can escape to the entrance of the puzzle by going to Menu > Social > Housing > Go to front door
Rules
Each Puzzle will have its own rules and objectives. Some may be optional, whereas others may be mandatory. Please read the various restrictions and objectives listed below to have a better understanding on how the puzzles work. Generally, most of the puzzles will be designed to be cleared purely by pathfinding and jumping, so please refrain from using any techniques or glitches to clear the puzzle unless otherwise stated.
Details of the puzzle rules will be listed and written in the room details.
The puzzle is cleared once you find and touch the message book.
Puzzle Type
Certain puzzles will be catagorized by its type.
Maze - Pathfinding will be heavily emphasized within the puzzle.
Event - The builder of the puzzle will be present at the puzzle providing special activities.
Limit - Restrictive rules are placed on the puzzle, adding difficulty and challenge.
Gate - Limitations may be present due to the requirement of having to use emotes, certain job actions, or techniques.
Memory - The use of techniques is likely present, and having to memorize pathing and order will be needed.
Riddle - Cryptic hints are laid out in the puzzle, making the pathfinding too vague to find on its own.
Multi - There are multiple routes to take towards the goal. Some may be more difficult than the other.
Obstruction - The puzzle contains visual disturbances, difficult entry point, or other unavoidable hindrances.
Co-op - Requires another player’s support to clear the puzzle.
Bounty - The current puzzle contains a prize to be won for the next player that clears it.
*Demo - Despite being in a completed state, it has not reached its full potential due to the item slot limit. An announcement has been made regarding an item slot increase in the near future, so these puzzles are released in its current state to demonstrate the concept of what the puzzle is. The Demo puzzles are all shorter than the rest, but will become full length puzzles once the item slot patch drops. This is a temporary label.
Game Mode
Certain puzzles will have specific objectives to complete. These are optional.
Scavenge - Find listed items that are hidden within the puzzle environment. Items listed can be hidden within other objects, or unreachable places. There is no order on which items to find.
Collect - Find and reach the listed items scattered around the puzzle environment. The listed items are usually visible, but require players to find a way to reach them. There is no order on which items to reach.
Trace - Track the amount of jumps it takes you to the goal. A “True” number will be revealed and marks the hidden real path. Any form of loop or regression are not valid toward the jump count.
Trail - Special platforms are present, and must each be landed on before reaching the goal. Each platform can only be used once. There may be a specific order on which platforms to land on. Any other platforms that are not listed can be used freely, unless otherwise stated.
Time Attack - Time yourself and reach the goal as fast as possible. There will be records to beat written in the message book for you to challenge. Techs can be used to enhance your speed.
Race - Bring other players along and race to the goal. Use alternative paths or job skills to outpace your opponents. Techs are prohibited.
Bonus - The puzzle contains a hidden extra stage to reach, or may be past the goal itself. The extra portion is usually harder than the rest of the puzzle.
Numero - Use the In-Game Roll feature to determine the number of jumps you can make in specially designed puzzles.
Extra - Restrict yourself by placing limits and rules to add more challenge on clearing the puzzle.
Party - The puzzle is specially designed for group activities, and are usually hosted during events.
Limits
Restrictive rules placed on the puzzle. These are not optional.
No HUD - Remove all HUD and indicators when clearing the puzzle.
No Buff - The use of Sprint, Job Actions, and any other buffs are prohibited.
No Tech - The most common rule. The use of techniques are prohibited.
No Jump - Jumping is prohibited.

Camera Lock - The use of the camera is prohibited, and must be set at a specific angle described in the puzzle rules.
# of Jumps - The puzzle must be cleared within the allotted number of jumps.
# of Time - The puzzle must be cleared within the allotted time limit.
Full Completion - The puzzle contains extra areas to reach, or multiple routes. This rule requires the completion of every part of the puzzle.
Game Mode ON - The given Game Mode is no longer optional, and the objective must be completed before reaching the goal.
Party
Some puzzles may be designed to have group activities to enjoy.
WoL Darts - Climb tall jump puzzles and jump down onto specifically designed targets to land on. The player that lands closest to the target wins.
Living Dead - Similar to the infection game, but within a jump puzzle playing field. Chase other players and infect them by opening the Triple Triad Duel request menu. Last player standing wins.
Blind Man’s Buff - Similar to Hide and Seek, the player seeking will have all their HUD removed, play in First Person View (or maximum zoomed in camera), and they must find the other players within the puzzle environment and time limit. Those who hid without getting found wins.
Techs
Short for Techniques, these are various discoveries found within the game by skilled players that allows unusual movements and actions. Some may call them a “Glitch”.
Phase - By walking straight against walls or furnitures, the player character will walk straight through, causing the furniture or wall to lose its hitbox. This can cause the creation of unintentional shortcuts for many puzzles.
Warp - There are 3 varieties that causes the player character to instantly teleport to another location. Within the void which most of these puzzles are built in, certain Job Actions can allow the player to teleport horizontally across other platforms. When running against the void, players can jump a few seconds after to teleport to a platform straight up. And lastly, most of the puzzles built use this method for puzzle entry: some furnitures allow the player to jump into and clip upwards, teleporting them onto it.
Displace - A form of “Gate”. Many furnitures allow the usage of Sit or Doze emote on them. Doing so can allow the players using the emotes to relocate their position onto the furnitures, even through walls, various heights, or other obstructions.
Alter - Known as “Slide” by the Jump Community. By using the Sit emote, there are specially designed puzzles that will cause certain furnitures to readjust their positions, altering the formation of the puzzle. It may create new paths, or block existing ones.
Dematerialize - Named the “Ghosting” technique, by going into certain locations or positions of the specially designed puzzle, it causes certain furnitures to fade away. This may lead to opening new paths, or hinder your progress. And in some cases, this method is used to create complex puzzles that require logical thinking to solve.
*(Due to the way the entrance of each puzzle is designed, puzzles containing the “No Tech” rule makes this portion of the puzzle an exception)
Limited Time Event Puzzle
There will be Limited Time Puzzles that are different than the ones listed. Oftentimes being a Large Scale puzzle, or integrated within the Free Company House design.
